Boom barriers, flap barriers and automatic bollards control vehicle and pedestrian entry and exit at apartments, IT parks, parking lots, factories and toll-style lanes. A raising arm gives a clear visual stop and works with tickets, RFID, ANPR or manual push buttons.
How boom and flap barriers work
A motor housing lifts and lowers the arm. The controller takes a signal from a remote, card reader, ANPR camera or guard station. Loop detectors or photocells keep the arm up while a vehicle is underneath.
What to check before you choose
- Lane width and whether height is restricted
- Vehicles per hour at peak time
- Access method: RFID, ANPR, ticket or manual
- Pedestrian crossing near the lane
- Cable routes and plinth location
