Faults we see most often
The common problems are a dead or weak remote battery, a misaligned photocell, a worn track or roller, a tripped power supply and a control board that has lost its settings.
A humming motor with no movement often points to a jammed gate, a worn capacitor or a gear fault.
Quick checks before you call
Check the mains supply and the fuse. Clean the photocell lenses and look for anything blocking the beam. Try a second remote. Make sure the manual release lever is locked back in.
Do not force the gate by hand while the motor is engaged, as this can damage the gears.
When to call a technician
Call if the gate moves unevenly, reverses by itself, makes grinding noise or does not stop on an obstacle. These are safety-related. A technician can repair systems from any brand and set up a regular service plan to prevent repeat faults.
